Thank you for taking the time to get to know us better; my name is Marion and I guess you can say that my calling in life is to be an artist. My interest in art grew and developed winning the “Art Award” in my senior year of high school. I pursued my interest further by attending a local art school, and realized that in order to delve into art more intensely, I would have to enter into the art program at my local University.

Entwined with my love for art, my love for flowers goes back to my childhood when I walked to our local florist in order to buy flowers for my mother. I attended Hixson’s School of Floral Design in Ohio and worked as a floral designer for many years. I taught Floral Design at Hennepin Technical College for 22 years, while working free-lance in the floral industry. I worked meetings and conferences and was a featured designer at many of the floral design schools. Additionally, I worked as floral manager and buyer for an up-scale, interior design and home furnishing store in Edina, MN.

Over fifteen years ago, my husband Forrest and I decided to purchase a “freeze-dry” machine and entered into the business of freeze-drying botanicals. We have been freeze-drying flowers longer than anyone in the upper mid-west, and Forrest was instrumental in initiating the International Freeze Dry Floral Association, and he serves as Charter Member and is considered one of the primary founders. He has worked many floral trade shows throughout the United States and has helped with much of the critical training throughout the years.

We have made many improvements in our work and processes over the years; we have implemented the process of pre and post treatment that has greatly enhanced the quality of our work.
