When
should I bring my flowers to you for preservation?
You
have several options:
Pickup: We offer personalized (your choice of time) pickup
of your flowers seven days a week if you so choose.
We have found that flowers may become damaged at the reception.
If all pictures are taken before dinner starts, we can be
there at that time. If you prefer to keep them on the table
during the reception, we will pick them up after your dinner.
Delivery or Shipping: If you do not wish to have
it picked up, put it in a safe place to keep it cool. Make
certain that it does not get frozen. Some tropicals do not
like to be cold, and they can be damaged in too cold of an
environment. We have heard the comment “well if
you are going to freeze dry it anyway, why can’t I put
it in my freezer?” When the flower starts to defrost
as you transport them to us, they will turn brown and limp.
Don’t freeze them! If
using a styrofoam cooler, add a layer of ice, place a thick
towel or two on top of the ice and then the flowers. Don’t
let the flowers come in contact with ice or water. If you
wish to ship flowers to us overnight, contact us for specific
instructions.
I
wish I had thought to have my flowers preserved. Can you help
me?
Yes, some
brides have their bouquet remade. Recently a husband surprised
his wife by giving her a duplicate of her bouquet on their first
anniversary. She enjoyed it for a couple of days and then we
dried and framed it. We have had others bring a picture, an
invitation, and/or other keepsakes along with duplicates of
several of their original fresh flowers and we will dry and
frame a snapshot of their original bouquet. Call for details
and suggestions to accomplish this in the most economical way.
It
is the day after my wedding; I did not make arrangements to
have my bouquet preserved. What shall I do?
Call us
as soon as possible. The earlier we get the bouquet, the better
the results. Sometimes we receive “miracle flowers”.
They look beautiful but they are several days old. Sometimes
we receive flowers the same day they were hugged and tossed
about and they look droopy and tired. We try to hydrate them
so they become firm and nicely shaped before they go into the
machine. It is best if you make arrangements with us before
your wedding, but we can help you even if you forgot and call
us after the wedding. After all of your planning, your flowers
bring comments, set the tone that this is a special event, their
beauty enhances the entire setting. Flowers make you smile,
flowers make you happy, your wedding flowers you always will
remember their beauty and how special they were just for your
day.
I
would like to preserve a few flowers – not from a wedding
– do you do this also?
Yes,
we do flowers from all occasions. It may be a flower that
was from your garden, one that you won a blue ribbon at
the fair, the flower you received at a recital, a contest,
an engagement, birth of a child, baptism, graduation,
from a special friend, a memorial… we can help you
with all of the above and more… and we can help
you choose a special display for you to keep this nostalgic
memory alive. We have frames with bubble domes to accommodate
a flower starting at $ 35 including the freeze-drying.
My
bouquet is very large and I do not wish to dry the entire bouquet
– can you help me?
Yes we
suggest a “snapshot look of your bouquet”. We always
take pictures of flowers we freeze dry. We can reduce the size,
which will reduce the freeze drying cost and enabling you to
use a smaller display unit. We have so many options; we suggest
that you come to choose your display unit before the wedding.
If you do not come before the event, we still can frame only
a portion of the bouquet. You might like to remember someone
special with a small frame of some of the flowers – a
great gift as a remembrance of your special day that can be
made with the extra flowers that remain for mother, grandmother,
bridal attendants to name a few.
